Does this quote map your spiritual journey?
It does for me!
FOR
Born evangelical, I lived my life “for” God, as if God lived far away from me with a list of demands & commands that had to be honored.
WITH
As the spiritual journey deepened, I sensed God was “with me” on the journey.
There was a softening of the need to please the external God “out there.”
God became intimately with me in Spirit- partners on the path!
IN
As things deepen, I now sense that this whole wild world is just one chaotic mess called God.
We live in God like fish live in the ocean.
And the Ocean (God) is large enough to lovingly hold the good AND bad within it.
It is all-embracing, like the air we breathe.
We live *in* God as God lives *in* us.
Like the air, we breathe- the divine is inside of us and outside of us.
